Houston to Farmington
Last night in Houston, we pitched our tent in the middle of town on a nice patch of green grass next to the city pool. The public restrooms were a little bit overrun with cockroaches, but at least they existed. In the morning, we got some McDonald’s coffee (McCafe, I believe it’s called...how positively francais!) before heading to Farmington.
On the way, we stopped in Eminence, where I payed a visit to Winfields Restaurant. They have a breakfast buffet, and, naturally, I was curious about the fate of the leftover buffet fare. It becomes dog food, for several of the employees’ dogs. My dog was never lucky enough to feast on bacon and eggs. A tough life, she led.

Our next meeting place was near the Washington County line. Sitting outside of a bar waiting for Dave and Austin, I spotted two chickens. One of them walked into a bar. A chicken walks into a bar. The joke possibilities are endless. And here, hilarious.

I then traveled to Farmington, where I spotted a drive through liquor store...what? The best part was the sign on the window that read “PLEASE do not drink and drive.” Well, Missouri, maybe if you didn’t provide people with a window through which they can grab liquor (while driving), there would be fewer drunk driving occurrences. Just a thought.
Git yer Miller Time here!
Chickens in bars, gourmet dog food, 100 ounce soft drinks, and drive-through liquor stores. Missouri is an odd place. And getting odder by the minute, as we’re couch surfing across the fence from a sex offender rehabilitation center—where our host is currently serving the night shift.
